His Highness Maharaja Hanwant Singhji Charitable Trust & Sir Ratan Tata Trust felt that they could create a replicable model of integrated rural development executing selected interventions which will mitigate the adverse effects of drought. A detailed development plan for three years with an outlay of Rs. 3,65,73,000/- was drawn out with Sir Ratan Tata Trust providing a grant-in-aid of Rs. 1,37,80,000/-. The balance amount of Rs. 2,27,93,000/- was to be mobilized from the community ( Rs. 1,00,17,000) and other sources including His Highness Maharaja Hanwant Singhji Charitable Trust ( Rs. 1,27,76,000/-).

During the three years the Trust was able to mobilize resources to execute the interventions planned which included rain water harvesting to recharge ground water, improving agricultural and animal husbandry outputs, improving quality of life for women, and providing livelihood security.
